ATS Web Design aka Advanced Technology Solutions started out as a PC Repair Business with my 2 brothers back in 2003. Eventually it evolved into a Web Design Business... ATS Web Design. My brothers still do PC Repair in their spare time.
Divorced in 2001, I am still a single mother of Twins... A Son and a Daughter. They are 19 years old this year. My Daughter is a a full time college student on the Deans list. My Son wants to train to be an auto mechanic.
Before having the Twins, I was as a Customer Service Representative for Foot-Joy. My business experience came from running my Family Home Daycare when the Twins were little. The Twins apparent special needs forced me to close. After that I designed Gourmet Gift Baskets. The first website I built was Abundant Gift Baskets in 1996. I also corroborated with my aunt in a Calligraphy Business, The Gourmet Pen. Soon after, my marriage fell apart and the divorce ensued. My first job was an Administrative Assistant for a Magician! I had to leave because I couldn't find appropriate Daycare for the Twins. That's when I realized that I had to work for myself so I could have the flexibility to always be there for them. Even now that they are older, I still find that I need that flexibility to be able to meet their needs.
I really love designing Websites. I wish I had realized the business potential back in the 90's. In 2004 I designed 2 sites for a friend of a friend... That's what sparked the idea of designing Websites as a business... My goal is to help people with Small Businesses get on the Web. 'Mom & Pop' Businesses who are well established in the community, but don't yet have a Website. I can come to them with my laptop, or if they don't have internet, they can meet me at my office. Every Business NEEDS a Website! No Matter How Big or Small.
